01
PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Riot Game installation project was a fast-paced project, with only two weeks from design to implementation. During this time, we had several other projects running concurrently. I was tasked with the full UX design for the tablet and collaborated with a senior UI designer to complete the UI design. This project taught me how to deliver high-quality work in a short timeframe and emphasized the importance of daily communication with the project leader.

REFLECTION

Creating the music installation for Riot Games was my first experience with a Location-Based Entertainment (LBE) project. Seeing guests engage with and enjoy the installation on the Shanghai Bund made me proud. As the project designer, I am grateful to my colleagues and satisfied with the project's success.

I learned valuable lessons through this project, working with producers, animators, and fellow designers. We used tools like WeChat, Slack, Zoom, and Figma for communication. Daily discussions with clients, especially for translating Chinese song names, required quick design updates.

Collaboration with multiple team roles

With just two weeks from strategy to implementation, I honed my time management skills. Regular meetings and early design submissions gave producers enough time for reviews and feedback.

Working on a tight schedule

This project pushed me to refine my design precision. While school projects focused on overall solutions, Riot Games' brand guidelines required pixel-perfect visuals. Meeting these high standards significantly improved my visual design skills.
